Image
Saturday, May 1 is Free Comic Book Day. So what that means is that comic shops all over the country will be giving away specially made free comics. And so will we (even though we're not really a traditional comic book store). In fact, we've created the second issue of our free annual comic, Mutant! #1 . This issue will actually be a pack of mini-comics, featuring work by: - Ben Claassen III - Chris Day - Eamon Espey - Noel Freibert - Everett Gee - Jordan Jeffries - Dina Kelberman - Hawk Krall - Ryan Onorato - Jon Powell - Benn Ray - Noah van Sciver - Ben Stiegler We'll also have an awesome free comic you most likely won't be able to find anywhere else in the area: Dope Flounder (featuring Jesse Reklaw, Sean Christensen, Tom Lechner, David Wien, Nicole Georges, and Ian Sundahl). We'll also be giving away free copies of: Tick #1 Weathercraft (Fantagraphics) Yow! The John Stanley Library (Drawn & Quarterly) G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Iron Man/Super Nova Iron M

For those not in the know, this Saturday is a special day for music fans. It's Record Store Day ! Modifying the Free Comic Book Day celebration concept (which is coming up on Saturday May 1 - and aside from several dozen different free titles we'll be giving out, we'll also be publishing the second issue of Mutant! , plus tons of sale stuff and special comics, etc.), Record Store Day is: ...a celebration of the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the USA, and hundreds of similar stores internationally. This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. So what this means for us is this year we'll get up early and trek over to our favor
